How accurate is the feedback?
The model is trained on Quran recitation and compares your audio with the exact phonetic form of the ayah, word by word. It catches wrong words, swapped letters, vowel length, shadda and madd. If a result looks wrong, tap “Not right? Report it” and we review it.
Can AI check my tajweed?
Partly. Tehseen AI checks how each word is pronounced: the right word, each letter, the vowels (harakat), shadda and how long you hold a madd. Rules such as ghunnah, ikhfa' and qalqalah are colour-coded in the reader, and in Strict mode some of them are checked as a beta, but they are not graded by default yet.
Does it catch harakat (vowel) mistakes?
Yes. A wrong vowel (for example a fatha read as a kasra), a missing shadda and a madd held too short are flagged on the exact word, with what was expected and what was heard.
Is there a free Quran recitation checker?
Yes. The free plan includes 10 recitation checks and 30 word-drill checks every day, reset at midnight UTC; if our servers can't check a recitation, you get the check back. Reading the Quran and listening to the qaris are free without limits.
How can I practise hifz (memorization) with feedback?
Use Memorize mode (Pro): the words are hidden and appear as you recite them correctly. Turn on Stop on mistake to pause at the first wrong word and try again from there.
Which recitation (riwayah) does it check against?
Hafs ʿan ʿĀṣim, the most widely used reading.
Which qaris can I listen to?
Mishary Alafasy, Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary, Mohamed Siddiq Al-Minshawi, Abdul Basit Abdul Samad (Murattal and Mujawwad) and Abu Bakr Al-Shatri, at 0.25× to 2× speed with each word highlighted as it is recited.
Do I need an account?
Reading and listening work without one. To check your recitation and save progress, sign in with Google or Apple. There is no password to create.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Tehseen AI runs in your phone's browser, on iPhone and Android, with nothing to install. Allow microphone access when asked.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Ask within 14 days of any Pro payment, first or renewal, and you get it back in full. Email support@tehseenai.com; see the refund policy for details.
What happens when I cancel Pro?
You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, then return to the free daily checks. Your progress and bookmarks stay.
Does it replace a Quran teacher?
No. It is a practice aid for the time between lessons. A qualified teacher (ustadh or ustadha with ijazah) should still guide and correct your recitation.
